I have about 35 wagons not stored in Marklin boxes and today, after not getting them out for a few weeks, I discovered that most of the wheelsets are slightly corroded. It has been a bit wetter than usual in Sydney over the last few weeks, so maybe that was the cause. Now I'll have to get the corrosion off them, but I don't fancy doing about 60 wheelsets one by one Any suggestions for a better and easier way? |

Gary,
I have one of the HTM modified TRIX locomotive wheel cleaners. What I do is just pass the cars over the brushes of this cleaner. After a few swipes of the car, the corrosion come right off. If I have a tougher spot, I may use a soft cloth and a little alcohol, but the wheel cleaner works great.

Hi Rowan
I haven't actually tried the suggestion yet. A couple of days after I posted the question I left on holiday and Milady and I are still swanning around Europe, mostly by train. I'll give it a go when I get back home, but that won't be until early June. |

Gents I am looking at using the OIL & CLEANER STEAM / SMOKE OIL SR24 cleaning my tracks etc. I have a hard spot on one of my boegey wheels and was thinking of using this with a cloth, will this be ok as you can feel it when pushing over the tracks etc. Also will this be ok to use in smoke generators?
