What a day! from a truly wonderful friend (known each other 50 years now),I received a wonderful gift, the passenger car set 43019.The detailing is superb, and all 3 coaches are an absolute delight to behold.
Does anyone know if this is a "special" series? I don't seem to find it in my 2008/2009 catalog?? The box has a "150-year" emblem on it.
Also, can someone shed some light on the couplings on these coaches, they differ quite a lot in looks and design from that on my old locos and coaches, (1959-1979). Can one use these new type couplings on the old type found on my 3000 tank or 3003 class 24 locos? It seems to be a problem to even couple over the standard coupling hooks on these locos and the relex coupling on the tender as well?!
What a great early birthday present!!....

Product database says:
"Released in:
Summer New Items 2009
Product programme 2009/2010"

You can hook the new coaches to your old locos - it'll go more easy if you slightly lift the first coach to get the loop over the hook.

Tom
