A question about item 36606. The description say that it is a SBB series 482 lok. I am thinking that it should really be a Re484?

This is a Re482.2 - which uses TRAXX2 chassis.
SBB Cargo ordered 50 Re482 - the first 35 are from first gen TRAXX-1 chassis; the last 15 are from second gen TRAXX-2.

Reason being that DB Cargo had requested that their second batch of TRAXX production should switch to the second generation chassis. As they held the largest order for TRAXX locs; it meant that it is no longer economical to continue building the first gen models. Therein its production line was closed after the last DB TRAXX-1s are built. After this, all other buyers are forced to get TRAXX-2 as well...

SBB Cargo later ordered 21 Re484 for operations between Italy and Switzerland (if I'm not mistaken).

Now collecting C-Sine models.

Tim-thanks for the info! It sounds as if Marklin could release this as either a late model Re482 or a Re484 and they chose the Re482.

Me, I'm rather taken with the TEE Bavaria Set with the 2nd Series RE 4/4 I, I'm a sucker for anything TEE really,
which reminds me I relally must find the funds for the 37575 Blue Gentian from 2009 before they disappear......

Excited by the two Mega startsets with the 60214, but a little diappointed that the Swiss Mega Startset is in many ways similar to the 29680 that I bought a couple of years back. OK Ae 8/14 instead of the Croc, but a set of Lightsteel Coaches and a very similar Ae 6/6. Oh well I guess the price tag would have put me off in any case, but it may lead to some cheaper unoxed 60214s on Ebay later in the year. No bad thing as they seem to be around Euro 650 -700. now :(

Odd that many of the 'Deleted' 2009 items have not reappeared, e.g the Epoch V E50, and for that matter, the Twin Mobile Station 2 Startsets...

Sorry Chris, the forum software has a habit of truncating long http links. I had copied it from another thread, but rather than copy the full link, it copied the butchered version!

Should be working OK now!

Looks like the new BR45 is a jackpot for your 45th!
(saves hunting those second hand 45s)
Now, if only Marklin would deliver them in time for the big day...Smile

Btw, I think this is the same model offered by Trix in 2008; same running number, same era (II).

Yes Tim,

It really would save a lot of hassle ...

Timing? Well I doubdt it, but don't really care as long as I get my hands on it within the year - mind you that the set I bought myself as new years present arrived on 30th Dec. Laugh

Thanks for the info. They seem to be planning quite a lot of interesting items for the upcoming year. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for 2 items I ordered last year (Feb.)so I think I will hold off on ordering until those items arrive, or are cancelled. I made the comittment to my dealer for the 2009 items, otherwise, I would cancel the remaining orders.

Never mind 2010, I'd still like to get stuff from the 2009 catalogue - including the insider model!

Yes, I'm still waiting for 2009 stuff as well. However, the delivery problem is nowhere near as bad as it was a few years ago.LOL

According to Stummi's price finder, 649 EUR is the best price they advise of for the 60214.

I remember seeing the 60213 on ebay, maybe 5 or 6 months ago for 569 EUR, but that sort of price is not available not any more.

499 EUR is probably Lutz's special in-the-know price that he gets them for!

599 at Lokshop with VAT, 503 without VAT. I also think that the set 29814 will go (without VAT) for 1240-1250 Euros at Lokshop, that means that 750 Euros gets you two locos, cars and track. May not be that bad of a deal. I got my CS1 in the same way.

Thanks guys, I suspected that Euro 499 was too good to be true for us mere mortals!

I think the 60214s are in short supply at the moment as there are none on Ebay and none of the major dealers have them in stock. I had noticed the Lokshop price, though they also add 4.5% for export making it Euro 626, but that is stil the most competitive price when they become available again.

I got my 60212 with the Swiss Mega startset 29680 a couple of years or so back when they were being sold off for GBP 900 (around Euro 1100 at the time, oh the good old days...).

I cant quite decide whether to go the ESU route and have my Central Station Reloaded, or go for a 60214 and link my non-ugraded 60212 V2 to that one.

Many Thanks
Ashley
