But only if they never touched the transmission's metal gears ... [}:)]
My best guess re motors: Gators - DCM [^], Crocos - SDS [8)]

John, when they bring out the double pack it usually means the end of the road for that tooling. You might be in luck! What do you prefer, LFCM or old C-sine?

Hi Ray - you may be right on the money
Well, re motors - let's guess their new manager types never know any of them [xx(]
[}:)]
We oughta be happy if they bear DCMs like the NOHABs [:p]. Cos M is on a savings trip ...

John, double E94 set is 37225, which means it's not C-sine or SDS. Good news?

Interesting that the "Capitol" is in fact a re-issue of the classic Marklin models, including tin-plate coaches with Relex couplers! The only modern bit is that they've added a digital decoder.
500 euro is a bit steep though!
At the moment I'm interested in:
26555 T3 train
36741 KPEV T12 (excellent value for 100 euro)
37097 Br85
37501 Br420
39012 Br001
39123 E10.12
39140 E40
39971 Turmtriebwagen
Of course, my budget won't stretch to all that, so I'll end up ordering maybe 2 items out of that list.

Hey Evil,
you can get a green Re 6/6 (11687 "Bischofszell") as part of the Re 10/10 Set. Look under 37320 at the

I'm a little bit disappointed. I had expected more for the "Jubileum". There's a lot of "remakes". Maybe there are more to come? Or maybe I just expected too much...
Anyway, there's enough to fill my budget too!
I will definitely buy the E94 double-pack. List-price of 399 euros is good even if it's old molds.

How to lose a sale?
It's official people. I will be going for the 23477 (Trix) Set of the TEE Roland rather than the TEE Bavaria Set. The Set comes with 2 Avumz, 1 Apumz, a Wrumz 132 and ARDumz all lettered for the Bremen-Basel-Luzern-Gotthard-Milano Route as when I first saw a Re 4/4II TEE in Arth-Goldau in 1972.
I have not yet found this identical set from Maerklin. I will have to check the list again.

Economy Update
All around the world, more real estate went into foreclosure as people stopped paying their mortgages because the Maerklin addicts spent all their money on model trains instead.
I say we apply for a bailout. Free trains for all!
It's a good way of stimulating the economy.
Update: Maerklin will not be releasing the TEE "Roland" Set this year. In it's place, a Set of the TEE "Blauer Enzian" will come out in AC.

The new "Gottardo" version has a five pole motor now...
I wonder which will be the difference between the 37991 and the 37993?

Not only that. There's a few others that were downgraded to 5-pole motors. I don't like that at all. Cost-cutting?

Not at all, Ray - not at all. We're talking real tinplate marklins from the 1950s, here ...
For this money you get a wonderful classic heavy-metal Electric, plus four tinplate cars [:p][:p][:p]
I'll gladly pay this amount of cash. Since what more can a collector of classics ask for ...
Finally they've made this so important step from the past to the future - but in legendary quality !!!
Bravo Marklin, and big congratulations - great move
If this goes on I might be broke, soon
. Since there's also the E94/E194 Gator Set (for me)
- at €400 a bargain, BTW - and the Looney Tunes Train and the Metallbaukasten (for the Grandkids) [:p]

And no digital news, except for the 6021 connect. No new accessory decoders, Switchpilot style, for example.
I would prefer to pay Märklin for the new accessory decoders I will get this year, but appears I'll have to pay ESU.

I'm quite happy. Some nice new DRG items, especially the ME109 set, exactly what I was hoping for.
Will there also be a 4MFOR new items list?

I would prefer to pay Märklin for the new accessory decoders I will get this year, but appears I'll have to pay ESU.
That will come probarly in the summer neuheiten. They have done this the last couple off years and the CS2 was not annouced either.
M-track with a CS2.

Will there also be a 4MFOR new items list?

Agree! This one I will get too! I have all of the previous Jünkers related sets as well as the Liliput Bf 109 set. Note that the ME109 designation, though popular, is incorrect, correct is Bf 109. That aeroplane was designed under the old Bayerische Flugzeug Werk AG concern, not under the later Messerschmitt AG concern. All models, up to and including the latest production version, G-14AS, were officialy designated Bf 109 by the RLM.

I can easily say the most exciting thing (although not really for me) about that list is the Capitole reissue.
Lionel has done this for years with classics that are just too darn expensive; while adding modern electronics and sound. its a real win-win situation for everyone, and I know many of you have only lusted over a Capitole, and now it may be a reality. Lets just hope they price it right and keep these reissues coming! Along with the Borsig it looks like they are actually listening to customers.
The crocodile set is expensive, but damn cool...
Here is what I'm actually ordering:
Cargo Re 6/6
If not too expensive, the grey mouse as well...
US Car display
Swiss Gravel Set
wasacosa tank set
Looks like a good year for Marklin!

M has done what you were wishing John, lets see if they will make profit.
M has re-produced fine models...

I wonder which will be the difference between the 37991 and the 37993?
Not only that. There's a few others that were downgraded to 5-pole motors. I don't like that at all. Cost-cutting?
If only for one edition in 2009 it's okay .
If they downgraded definitely I don't like it , me too.
SDS is a nice thing and it shows Marklin was still forward and wants to progress in MRR technology , comparing to other manufacturers .
Are there still some SDS motorized Loks in 2009 ?

About the Capitol re-issue , I find it a VERY good idea too , specially if coaches are tin plate : great !
500 E with those fine tin plate coaches + this old heavy lok : it is reasonable ( comparing to the price of all those plastics MRR items from China actually flooding the market at tremendous fares...)[:0]

Nikos, no idea how many of the CAPITOLE sets they'll make. But it's my best guess they'll sell out
rather quickly the very moment the collectors community all over the world gets in the know ...

Lots of new models.
I will order the BR 39 insider and the insider train
I already ordered the BR 23.
I still have a digital BR 85 with sound on my wishlist, so maybe this year.
No Bellingrodt IV for me.
Have to think about the new Kittel.
Will buy the 46206 Beerwagon
With kind regards

Same here...
Same here I expected more . I.E. : something completely new about systems or tracks,
A mix of more advanced concepts with vintage style items .
