http://www.hugendubel.de/Detail.aspx?gid=1242950Almost real it is a book written by Markus Tiedke, it is about the best layouts of Josef Brandl’s, one of the best layout artist in Europe, the photos are from another planet, and the level of perfection is astounding. It was written in German and English (Finally). After checking this book nobody will ever say “German layouts are toy like”. Greetings, Gustavo Villa PD: I don’t work for any book store. [^]

Gustavo, Many thanks for suggesting this book. I've just ordered a copy for myself. There are some incredible MODEL railroads that have been featured in Eisenbahn Journals Superanlagen issues by Rolf Knipper. These are: Kraftwerk & Zeche: von Sprockhöfel nach Kuno: http://ejmv.de/art/56801.htmlEisenbahn in Ruhrgebiet - Modulbauweise - Fortsetzung Anlagenbau IV: http://ejmv.de/art/670101.htmlI believe Knipper is also involved with Fde-Burscheid, http://www.fde-burscheid.de, one of my favorite layouts. Then again I love the industrial look... p. Quote:[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote:Originally posted by Gustavo Villa <br />http://www.hugendubel.de/Detail.aspx?gid=1242950

Hi all,
I have this book myself, and indeed, it's great! Especially the small details (like hikers taking pictures of a deer, these sort of things) are very impressive! Highly recommended. |

Hi Gustavo,
I concur. The layouts shown in this book are almost real. I have some other books with layouts of the same designer which are also fabulous. Don't know for sure but I seem to remember I've read somewhere these kind of layouts are sometimes used in the movie industry.
Kind regards Guus |

If I was starting over I certainly would for a number of reasons, even though I would likely still stick with analog. p. I did it , and If I want marklin I just buy Trix or Marklin hamo.[:p].No regrets. Yes, the wiring process is more complicated, but with some tips anybody can do it. But the big problem is: Outside Europe european models are mostly Marklin, almost no trains, no forums no nothing for 2 rails (european models)outside Europe. Probably this are some of the reasons I still love marklin and this forum

Reynauld's Euro Imports in Chicago is selling this book now; I just received my copy this week. For those who are in the USA, this is a convenient way to obtain this book. Not too much Märklin pictured, but the scenery is inspiring (if not humbling!). I like the "less track, more scenery" philosophy. |

I just got mine from Reynauld's. It is fantastic, well worth it. It is already influencing my layout plans. |
