Hello,
After seeing the previous post on this topic, I had some more questions.

I am considering buying one of these.

1. Does this have a 5 pole or 3 pole motor?
2. If 3 pole, how is the running characteristics?
3. How hard is it to install interior lighting to the cars? Will M* parts like pickup shoe, ground springs fit?
4. Is the constructruction as good as M*?
5. I did not get the email from Eurolokshop even though I have purchased a lot of stuff from him (or maybe I got it and deleted it without looking). Was there a coupon code? Can I have it? The site still shows $329.51

Thanks for your response.

I believe all Mehano uses is a scew wound five pole can motor. This is the least exspensive type. Not to be confused with the Roco open frame 5-pole skewed motor either.----------- remember, with a Luxury Loc., as with a Luxury anything-----?????? You paid how much??????

I had checked the site too but did not see this one listed under the Prestige line. I did see one under the Hobby line though (3 pole) but the one sold in Eurolokshop is a Prestige line one.

Not all cheap motors are the same - Bachmann have been fitting a superb can motor in their cheaper HO range for a while now, the same unit is also used in a G scale tram where it copes perfectly well. Add flywheels and it'll match anything on the market for slow running and silence.

I know they (Bachmann) uses those also in their Spectrum line, they seem to run well, although the non-helical tower gearset is noisy.
