Hello,
Anybody have any recommendations or knowledge of Marklin shops in this area. On the Marklin Retail listing I found Rail and Spike and Blue Ridge Hobbies, both in Greeneville SC. They are about an hour South from my location.
Thanks in advance

Look on the website. Dealers are listed. There are better stocked ones in the Atlanta area who will ship to you.

I love the term "better stocked" dealers in Atlanta.I have visited Atlanta several times and not much stock to look at. I have heard of one dealer who is supposed to have some stock, I went and visited. Just one small display case with 3-4 locomotives and 10-15 cars. Maybe a small starter set. No Marklin Layout. But he had an impressive Lional collection.

Although it is rather expensive to stock Marklin.

How many Marklin Dealers in the United Stated are really well stocked ?

I bet that there are no more than 3-4 "well stocked" delaers in the US.

Frostie, depends on which dealer, and when you went. The one I frequent (when I have money) is currently remodeling, so there's not much of anything in stock, not just the Märklin lines they carry.

Used to be a store in Charlotte that stocked Marklin, but they closed their doors. The store I got my first Marklin from in Raleigh closed in the early 80s. Odd it was easier to get M stuff in NC in the past, but guess a lot pf it has to do with internet etc.
Charlotte has a very large German connection (county seat of Mecklenburg County, named for Queen Charlotte os said region of Germany: http://en.wikipedia.org/..._of_Mecklenburg-Strelitz ) Fairly significant German corp presence (though Continental closing its factory) thus direct flights to Frankfurt and some decent German food - at lest from my amateur perspective. Yet no good M dealer!
