In order to control oiling of wheels I found that the tip of a "pull spring hook" is very suitable to carry a sized drop to the exact place: PS. For those of you that are unfamiliar with a spring hook: it is a tool - 28 cm long - used in unhandy places to attach a spring to the opposite hook by pulling the eye of the spring. The other variant is a push spring hook. The tip of this one is S-shaped - used in the same manner but by pushing away from you. |

Perhaps you could bend a paper clip to accomplish the same (patent pending ... and probably soon available from PTC ) |

My Fleischmann oil came with a needle in the cap (like the old oil bottle from M*). Makes it easy to get oil drops of various sizes and apply them. |

Good tip I have used a pin to place a drop of super glue were I needed it but never thought of using it for oil.
Thanks Benny |

I use a needle oiler very nicely.
The oil from LGB has the perfect applicator for me. |

I've still got one of the old Marklin oil bottles, that Thomas refers to. It comes complete with applicator.

Sir Flash quotes Our Authorised uncouplers now come with a built in oiler. There is of course a slight extra cost but well worthwhile. I'm picturing a Authorised Uncoupler looking more like a Unauthorised Swiss Army Knife? And I can't get it out of my head! |
