Has anybody taken a look at this system? It is being developed by ESU for Bachmann and is supposed to have ECoS link capability. Is this the way to add wireless controllers to an ECoS system or a hint at what ESU may be developing for ECoS and the CS?

It does occur to me that if reprogrammed to Marklin digital standards it would be a great replacement for the MS...

Well, there's a Trix MS planned, why not go the other way too? :D

Today ESU announced the ECoS Control Radio. It looks like the Dynamis, so I guess that I was on the right track. This will allow wireless controllers to be added to the ECoS system using IR.

Does it work with the CS, since the CS is essentially an Ecos....?

This will surely be one of the frequently asked questions during the toy fair. A "YES" answer requires the receiver port with corresponding code to be released by Märklin (besides resolving some other questions with ESU, like licensing, etc.).

When I talked to Mr. Lindner two months ago, he didn't want to confirm their own release of this device yet (didn't want to let the cat out of the bag too early), but from the responses it was apparent that it would come likely as introduced now at the fair.

Following the Homepage of ESU and the product description, the wireless control is compatible only to the EcoS.
We have to remember that the software of the EcoS need an update to support the wireless control. This is the same for CS, and if Märklin does not implement it with an update, than is nothing to do there.

kind regards

Stephan

Thanks for the info Lutz, much appreciated. Great if Marklin do release their own version of the EcosControl. This would answer the question I previously posted about having a slave CS from which loks and solenoid devices could be controlled from, remotely from the master CS.

Charlie has a close up picture of the EcosControl on his web site, www.ajckids.com

Looks interesting. It appears small enough...I wonder if they will continue to sell/support the mobile control?
