Gotthard Set #39540 is here and will be under the tree. I'm scheduled to run it all day the 27th, so look for my review shortly thereafter..........:-)

I finally got a couple of loops under the tree - as soon as the presents are cleared I would like to put a loop of M track inside the digital loops so I can run my non-digital stuff, and put in some of my 50's Faller buildings too.
you can see I don't care much about era. Since I don't have a "permanent" layout, I will be bringing out my collection a few pieces at a time to give them a run.
No marklin presents for me, unless I count the Br05 Insider, which will be arriving after Christmas - so I guess it will be my present to myself for the Orthodox Christmas.
here's the overall tree - and dog

Probably none. There's no local Marklin store with any stock, and my wife thinks it's all a waste of time and money!!

Thank you Larry. [:I]

The Messwagen's purpose is to test the Catenary height with motor driven pantographs. It has three lights, red, yellow and green, telling the status. I am not familiar with it yet, as I have no Catenary system to test. Hopefully I will get that when I get around to build a permanent layout.

Happy holidays to you and your loved ones.

Got my 39890 which is now running very nicely round the layout. Looks like the new motor is a winner. Good detail on the loco although the horn could be better. All in all a great present from my wife and a good model from Marklin.

<br />So, what train related items are under the Christmas tree this year?

Unfortunately no surprises under the tree for me this year... However there is one train related item under the tree... A cheap plastic "Train Master" battery operated huge train set for my son's little half-brother of 5 yrs. If he likes to play with that, there will be a Märklin digital starter set next year for him...

Juhan, Did the Digital Starter Set appear under the tree this year???
