Any comments about her pulling capability?
I haven't really tested its pulling capability in a proper manner yet,but from what I've seen on my test track I have no doubt this is one of my strongest locos if not the strongest!

Thanks for the picture Lutz.
In fact I was hoping you could tell more about this part

I may have been lucky with the previous C-sine,which of course has/had its problem, but this SDS motor I believe brings back the old big C-sine qualities of Märklin.
Did you ever have doubts about this? I didn't!
Well,not really

Have fun.
Thank you David.
I can heartily recommend this loc.

Yes it is.
From what I've read in various publications this was the most powerful electric loc for quite a long time.

Hi Davy,
Thank you, yes I have!
Believe me I'm really surprised by the new SDS drive. It is in fact a very small motor but it nevertheless gives so much power-aided by a worm drive perhaps, but still.
Hope to see more comments on the new drive in the near future.
Kind regards

Hi Guus,
want some more pictures of this 240t "beast" ?
It was for example pulling our special train during the Märklin Swiss Collection 3 journey from Brugg to Göschenen (supported by a croc from Erstfeld on); this was back in 2001. I arrived there quite early in the morning (German highways are great for fast driving
) and could watch how the driver did the final preparation of the loco (it needed at least as much oil as a steamer!
) and could chat with him until our train departed - on time as usual in Switzerland.

I am really looking forward to seeing the comparison between the 39561 and 39562 .
An outsider.
I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

Nope - as already mentioned here and in another thread, mine still runs fine (even though some members seem to like hearing something else
).
AND it makes a very good impression amongst all its predecessors and successors!
But you'd probably need to ask anyways those owners of the TRIX #22025; unless you've changed you mind (again).

Here are some more pictures:
New SDS motor with flywheel
The motor is really small ,but thanks to the wormgear and powerful magnet I presume it is well up to it tasks
Kind regards

P.S.: If you like I can post some pictures of the printed circuits as well.

Hey Guus
Nice pictures; The colour of the beast doesn't look too bad from your pics - I thought it would be a lighter green - which is not great.
Two motors with 4 driven axles should make that monster quite a power house. [:p]

Yes Tony,
It is indeed much less of an "eye pain" than it looks like from the news catalog picture; see also this one here:
Thanks again for the nice pictures too, Guus. Here are some of the ones I had mentioned before.
For sure the current painting scheme is more popular, but ...
And here the famous "Buchli" drive (predecessor of the SDS!

I agree the colour isn't half as bad as it looks on "paper"

Thank you too for the nice photos of the real thing. And yes that Buchli drive was a very clever invention, keeping the unsprung mass as low as possible.

From what I seem to understand by having a closer look at it and by reading the parts list, it holds the motor in place!
By the way it's made out of metal.

Thank You Guus for pictures!
Thank you Lutz for infortmations!
I' ve seen the model at the shop , color looks OK , it is nice matt color , not too bright.
BTW Guus, something I don't understand: how is the transmission on this model?
May be I'm wrong, looking at firts pictures it seems some gears are on the inner side of the wheels? Still in assymetric position like former model with 5 poles motor or right on the middle of axles ?

Hi Guus,
I just checked my profile again and the address is ok. I think my provider might be having some issues, my father had the same problem trying to email me on the weekend.

Yes you're right, part of the gear reduction is a worm gear and the rest is via an assymetrically placed gear reduction.

With a closer look to both SVT 134 and VT 04, what do you think about the paint?
I mean the quality of painting ?
It seems that the quality of "surfacing" is better on the SVT 137.
The one from the SVT 137 is smoother while the one of the VT 04 looks more grainy ...
Am I wrong ?
Do you think it has been made at the same place or with a similar skill or dexterity?
(sorry it s a little bit off topic. If anyone has the same remark ,I open a new topic)
