I am looking at this if the price is right AND I can run it - now it is delicate and should only pull the 2 cars with it but my layout IS very small - do not know about handling the grades -- but I think it would be a nice addition for when the grownups play.

I know this is Delta train with some but not many features produced in 2000 so I am not sure what chipset it would have and changing the address - CAN it be changed to run on the Mobile station with to not conflict with other trains ?- I assume at that age it would have the 4 slider switches but am not confiedent with the history of Delta sets

I see selling in Europe is about 150 euro for the little set. I would only buy this one if I got a real bargain US. ANy advice.

Yes, Delta locos will run on an MS with no problem. If you add the loco from the MS database and it clashes with another, just go to "edit loc", "address" and set it to something else. Be aware that Delta has a limited number of addresses, and that you'll need to use the switches on the decoder to set an address matching that of the MS listing.

The delta decoder in this loc has 8 dipswitsches. I have this set also. The coaches have light. This loc drives very nice and still and is stronger then you think.

Thank you - ok - so I CAN change the address on the loco - I have done that with my other Delta locs but they only have 4 dip switches. It looks like it would make a nice addition - I have no fear of using up the address locations :) I only have 3 locs right now and don't see ever having more than the 10??? I can use with the MS at one time.

Did I jinx myself with famous last words? Well it is easy to add and remove from the MS.

Maybe some more information comes in handy on this one: yes, it is a Delta model, but unlike most Delta decoders it has 8 dip switches and is thus programmable for any of the 80 addresses in use in the older digital system.

biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

You should read this post again around the same time next year, I'm sure it will bring a smile to your face by then!biggrin

Over what timeperiod have you acquired the 3 locos you have now? The loco-buying urge only gets worsewink, as many here will confirm.

I wonder how many model railroaders have a layout that can run ALL of their locos at once...[}:)]
Kind regards,

HAHAHA I joined in 2004 but we have slowly acquired used track, turnout motors, and starter sets (except for a set with the MS which was acquired new) until now at good prices to build our layout and just started really putting it together in December. We are going to try to find time to work on the 2nd level this weekend. I depend upon my husband to operate the power saws :) :) :)

Everything we have is all very basic stuff (but it is not that old). Too many other things compete for our money.

I am already also looking at a little 0-6-0 also from a new starter set. Once again very basic - the Glaskaten would be the most exotic thing on our layout if I can get a good price on it.
