Hello all,

The green loc from the set 37362 (Elektrolokomotiven-Doppelpackung "50 Jahre Ae 6/6") have problems with running.

The loc is stuttering (go faster, a bit slower, a bit faster, a bit slower, faster (shock), slower etc. etc.)

I noticed this today.

It seems the decoder have problem with the speed control.
Yesterday and before she drives really perfect.

What is wrong with her [:(]

Is there something I can try to fix this myself?

Regards,

Timaximus

I wonder if it is oil on the wheels and axles that are "ghost"...?

Marklins oil itemnr:7149 are trully worst oil in the market that there is...!

I`m using other oil name mineraloil with high quality that i did bought in the shopstore name www.kystbanen.dk

They did said to me that mineraloil is thousands times better than Marklins 7149...!

Hello Goofy,

Is that possible from one day to another and on a passable new loc so fast?

Hello Davy,

The driving time for this loco is 8-12 hours total.

I will open it to look inside.

And is it possible that this happen from one moment to another?

Hello Timaximus and you other guys

I excperienced something like this when some oil collected on the commutator on a SFCM, it seemed like the oil very quicly burned into carbon, as Davy excplains. This resulted of course in poor contact and a strange motor behavior.

The same behaviour for my Ae 3/6 brown.
Mine started slow itself turnig on the 6021, and running at regular speed by chance started as a rocket [B)][B)][B)] and then slow [:0][8][}:)]. The defect came and went itself. I think that the mfx decoder is a little crazy. Now it rests in the showcase waiting the doctor...

I had a customer's SVT137 doing the same, a while back.

After a lengthy troubleshoot session, I found it to be caused by poor grounding due to oil accumulated in the wheel axles to chassis contacts. A good axle cleaning did the trick.

It seems ESU decoders don't like intermitently variable ground impedance.

Thanks guys,

I removed the cover and everything seems very clean.
Especially the motor.

I will give the chassis contacts a better look.
And let the loc run again this weekend to see if the loc behave normally.

Hello all,

As far we can see there is no dust or oil inside the engine.

Tomorrow it looked like the problem disappeared completely.
But after some rounds we noticed the same strange behaviour again but less then yesterday.
Later on the problems disappeared again.

The video shows a good running Ae6/6.

So it is a strange problem.
I will run this loc without the PC for a while (manually with the IB) to see if this behaviour happen also.
