I have noticed that a fair number of people visit my layout web site from a link at insieder.de I visited insieder.de and find that it is a password protected site... I googled it and found that they also link to other rail related sites so I am wondering if it is a useful site... is anyone here a member of this 'secret' club ?

yes, I belong to this group. Danger, we are Maerklin enthusiasts (most of us are germans and lost boatpeople from the closed Maerklin Insider Forum) who likes listening to music by Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The DOORS, etc. Normally we are harmless, you may ask our probation officer (:-)

Hi,
I understand that, when the oficial Marklin Insider Forum closed, most people eventually went to Stummi´s, while other "EdelInsider"'s formed a closed forum, where one only can join if invited.
Maybe it is THIS closed forum that you are seeing references from? Just guessing.
Maybe Lutz Hemmerich can spread more light on the subject?! -Just guessing again. ;-) |

Hi Henrik. Yes I could tell you quite a bit about both, Stummi's and this "closed forum" (which is not really so closed as one might think ). Maybe some day - when the "right" time has come ... Ray is of course right; This is another forum, and regarding "Trolls" an unwritten page (*). We may leave it like that!
I speak from experience, from other problems in a spanish forum. Whatever the reason and outcome in ONE place, grudges and problems must NOT be carried over to other places.
However, I was just trying to get information, but some wounds may still be healing, and then it is better to leave the subject alone.
As Lutz says; "when the time is right".
The subject only interessted me, because the Insider Forum was an ORIGINAL Märklin service. Paid and cared for by the company.
In the words of Jorge Carlos Vilarrubí (he is registered here); "It is better to put up a wall between the past and this present, and not include a door in that wall". ;-)
(*) I can of course only speak for the short time I have been a member here, and during that time this fourm has always been outmost civilized!
If somebody wants to see what can happen when the moderators are not doing their job, they should take a look at "Drehscheibe-Online". -And even when the busy and alert moderators in Stummi´s do their job, acid still spills over from time to time...

Erich: Welcome from another person "a bit older than 60". Us experienced guys have to stick together. You might go to your profile ("Profile" at the top of the page) and at least enter your country so we know where you are from. Again, welcome! This forum is a great resource for this hobby. I have learned much here. As to you modelling skills, I am certainly not artistically oriented but have never been afraid to try, and I am quite surprised and pleased at the outcome of my efforts. Just do it and learn. You'll get all the advice you need right here if you just ask. |

This is a model railroad forum that is supposed to be a place in Cyberspace where we can help eachother the best way we can. Every member has the right to be respected, and should also treat other members with the respect they expect to be treated with themselves.
Personal attacks are quite common in German forums/newsgroups, I have followed quite a few during the years so I've seen a lot, but here we keep it civilized and do not attack other forum members...

John, are you sure that this helps? First you need to know everything about them and how bad they can behave, especially against nice, brave gnomes. [:0]  You'll find everything nicely written down in "Bestseller #1"; a great book to read before a good sleep and therefor always laying at my bed desk, right next to the yearly Märklin "book of tales" and "Kleine Philosophie der Passionen - Modelleisenbahn" from Burkhard Spinnen.  Whenever you find a trolli under your bed, it could have caused by careless opening of the bag where they're usually stuffed and kept safely; but in this case they can easily escape and jump down under your bed.  Hope you had a good sleep last night too!

Erich, thanks alot for your updated message and public apologize; it's ok for me too as well I think for all other members (Juhan pointed me to that; I had not recognized it yet). I tried to get in contact with you for an offline clarification of your unfavorite intro message, but unfortunately the contact address field in your profile is empty. Please feel free to send me a PM, which is a quite common practice here too. We all have a common field of interest in information/experience exchange, which is Märklin and all about it. As said, there should be no need nor a place here for personal affronts against other members, regardless of their different opinion about a certain discussion topic. I'm glad that this is apparently different than with other forums and would also like to thank Juhan for his very clear message. Overall we "meet" here to learn from each other in order to have more fun and less pain with our beloved hobby! I hope and am confident that we too can get well along together, despite this unfavorite escalation - let's simply leave it behind us for a better future.
