I am seeing references in the Brawa, Piko, Roco, and Marklin catalogs for items marked EUROTRAIN.
Just what is EUROTRAIN?confusedconfused

Must be so common in EU that nobody sees the need to explain it.[:p]

Thomas if I'm not completly wrong it's the train who connects France and England via the Euro Tunnel which runs under the Channel, also called Euro "Chunnel" sometimes (sic: Euro Train)

Eurotrain is an association symbol used by stores and companies that specialize in model trains, or "idee+spiel"(ideas+play) stores that have a large selection of model trains and related supplies. Model train manufactures make items just for members of the association and those you will see with the Eurotrain marking.

Very informative. biggrinbiggrin Thank you.

Now the hard part -- How do I order these from Texas? (or anywhere outside of DE [xx(])

My favorite shops (Reynaulds and Modellbahn-Kramm) do not seem to carry these models. Anyone have a list of EUROTRAIN shops with web sites?

Update: I did find some (Brawa) models listed. Are there limits on selling to shops outside DE?

Sorry Thomas - I WAS completly wrong [:I]biggrin

BUT - nothing to ride home about with that Eurotrain shops. As an example (we would never buy that specific item): No.29550 (Harry Potter Starter Set) is listed at Eurotrain with a hefty € 259.- price tag [xx(][xx(][xx(]. They even call that a "Top-5 Supertip" - are we idiots or what ??? (seems to me like "just give us your credit card number you can compare prices later" [xx(][xx(][xx(])
Whereas at www.fundgrube-neandertal.de for the same item ya pay € 189.- only SmileSmileSmile And these nice guys gladly ship to Texas ...

Well, John has a point but on the other hand I am not surprised to see Eurotrain charging list.
But the site says that they also have exclusive items only sold through Eurotrain stores. I do not know how exclusive or desirable those item are such as the Brawa 0716 or the Maerklin freight cars. But for such an item it may be worth to find a eurotrain store that does do mailing.
The site, however, does allow online ordering and it gives you the choice between Deutschland or Ausland (Foreign Countries) as shipping destination. So you may be able to ship to Texas.

Thank you for all your replies. I now understand EXACTLY what EUROTRAIN is.....marketing hype. Sort of like MHI, "Made only in year XXXX" or "one time series", but for Brawa, Roco, et al.[:p]
