Does anyone know where I can find the dip switch settings for a Marklin 66032 Decoder?

Thanks Guus. That does look close since it has eight dip switches. I will see if it works.

There are numerous places, like here:

http://www.maerklin.de/faq/download.php?Number=119

But you can for example also download the 60652 Mobile Station handbook. A full table for all 80 addresses of the 66032 is located in appendix G on pg. 49. They are the same as for 6090/60902 decoders.

It's a nice toy - but do you really want to run back to your PC, start it and run that program if you sit in front of you model train layout with you locomotive open?

Wouldn't you too prefer too just have a single paper sheet that lists ALL address combinations at once?

By the way - this table is still also included in all fx loco instruction booklets and - needless to say? - in that of the 66032 (pg. 11 - and even in several common languages). Cool

Lutz

What about decoder 60901? I have a BR 50 that i just converted and i haven't hit the right switches. I belieive it's 4 & 8 on but I'm not 100% sure. Is there a table that would show that? Forgive my ignorance, pretty new to this world...

Yes there is a table.
The one suggested by Lutz is the complete table.

If you want to give your BR50 the adress "50" for instance then the dipswitch settings should be 4 and 8 on indeed and all others off

Hope this helps.

Guys,

You can also check out some information on my site, Modell-Zug Elektronix, which has the Digital and Delta coding tables along with an explanation of how the switches actually work. Once you understand the basic code, you won't need to use the tables anymore. The 66032 Delta board uses the same coding scheme as a 6080/6090/60901 Digital board with 8 switches.

Hope this helps you out-

-Jason

Alright, now it's my turn to ask for some assistance.

I have set the dip switches to 4 & 8, picked 3684 on my MS (which is the correct running number 050 082-7) but still nothing. Am I missing something? Does any one else have suggestions?

Matt:

On my MS, 3684 is address 5. You have your 3684 set to 50. Either change the Loc to 5 (4, 5, & 7) or edit the Loc address in the MS to 50.

I don't have a MS, so can't try it, but couldn't you just whizz through addresses 1-80 quickly and see if it responds to one of them, before taking it back to the shop? On my 6021, this would take all but 2 minutes winkbiggrin.

As already stated, the factory and MS database default setting for the decoder in this loco is 05.

If your DIP switches are set to address 50, it will not work unless you change either the decoder address to 05 or the default address in the MS to the current setting of your BR50.

For a quick home check you might also want to change the decoder address to another set of DIP's, like 20 (3+7), 78 (1) or 79 (2), etc.

Lutz

Sounds like you are trying to use a non-mfx decoder with the MS.
This is not plug and play.

There is a procedure to use when using 'older'(6090x) Loks with the MS. Look in the MS manual for instructions on how to use 6090x decoders. You have to set some values by hand.wink

Well here's an update....I awoke around 4am and realized when the decoder was put in it was installed upside down. So all the dip switches were on and I was turning "off" the correct ones. So of course first thing I did when I walked in the door from work was to turn them all of and set it up with the 4,5,&7 on.
Guess what?.....

It worked. So now I am running it around the layout as we speak....

Thanks for all the input guys. Nice to know there is some support out there....

Matt:

That's great news! I was really wondering when you changed the switch settings to '5' and it didn't work. Now we need a picture of your Lok in action!!!

Ok - NOW I know why I slept so badly last night! biggrin

I was "turning from one side to the other" in bed and was always thinking what else could be wrong - and there are quite some options! [}:)]

Nevertheless, please be assured that I am also happy with your success - Congratulations!!! SmileSmileSmile

Regards,
Lutz

PS: A pic of the loco in action is the least "prize"; one of the loco open with a view at the Decoder and its DIP's would just be great!!! biggrin
