Wow!!!

I could spend a week looking at one of those layouts.

BTW. I'm not surprised that there is a crowd of Prieserlings at the harbour. One of the boats just vanished into thin air!

Hi Ron,

Many thanks for the pictures! I visited the Miniatur Wunderland on last Monday, but had only 45 Minutes time before closing. I made some pictures from the US and the scandinavian layouts, but they give no real impression of that all. Size and detailing is simply overwhelming. I'll go there again next time when I'm in Hamburg.

BTW, the bigboy pair was en route when I was there, too. However my own photos have gotten a little unsharp.

Hans Martin: It takes 45 minutes to get out of the lobby! We opened the place at 8:45 and had to tear ourselves away to go catch our 7PM plane to Munich. I could go back and see things I missed. it is huge, very complex and very detailed.

Ron, you can now imagine how difficult it was to get me out there at closing time...Cool

I focussed on the US and swedish layouts and kept my eyes closed when I passed the others. And yet, I didn't get but a tiny impression of even the US theme. But enough that in the hotel I dreamed of it the whole night.

Many thanks for taking the time to post Ron. Great pics and what a layout.
Faller and Vollmer must have had a bumper year when the layout was built.
I am building Fallers Trossigen at the moment which puts my layout into perspective.
I do envy your trip and again thanks for a great set of pictures.

David
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I've been there too and it's absolutely great ! I was there from 10:00 to 14:00, and that was too short.

Good thing to see that even there, sometimes things go wrong. A cable gondola got stuck, and suddenly the tip of a mountain disappeared and a guy came out to fix it.

The amount of detail is incredible !

It's surely worth a visit, but make sure you have enough time and nobody is there to hurry you !

Just send nobody to the fußganger zone with the credit card, then you most certainly won't be rushed.

Our UK members will know such well - at the entrance of "The Ancient Royal Golf & Country Club St.Andrews" [}:)] (known also from the James Bond movie "Goldfinger") there's a small sign, made of brass.
It says: "No dogs, no women" ...

It is defintely worth the visit. It was a long day for us, though. We caught the 5:45am ICE from Berlin to Hamburg, spent the day at the MiWuLa, then caught a 7pm flight to Munich.
