I got a Hag Ae 4/4 on E-bay for a price I could not pass (about 140$). The bad part is it was DC. When I got it I found out that this is the easiest conversion ever. It seems HAG has the same set-up, AC or DC so I had only to replace the little 'skid' part that connects to one side of the DC wheels with a pick up shoe, using the same little screw, and the lok went perfectly. biggrin Later, I installed a decoder and now I have a great addition to my collection!
I am restructuring my website so I uploaded a pic here:

Speaking of which, has anyone done the newer generation loks? Specifically the Re 6/6 or Re 4/4II? I know of two I want but they are both DC and I thought a conversion would be rough.

I am trying to get other HAG DC locos and see if the set-up is the same. I suspect it is, since most locos from HAG come in both versions, it makes only sense to have one universal design. Soon I will try mine on a 'lomg run' test, but I do not expect any problems

Interesting! I didn't know it was THAT easy either. Good job, and that for such a relatively tiny amount of money. wink
