As promised, I finally got around to installing the Rail4You C-sine motor in my venerable 3054 E103. Here is the lok before starting: Here is is opened up and ready to go: (This had been my first digital conversion. About to pull out the 5* high efficiency motor!) Here is the motor frame ready for the new motor: Here is the motor frame with the motor installed: And here it is ready to hook up the wires and test it: I then made sure that the mechanism turned freely and put it on the track. This is where things went bad. It ran about 1/2 meter forward and stopped. I reversed it and gave it a little push and it ran about 1/4 meter in reverse an then the little interface board left it's smoke out. It is now dead. The HE motor is going back in until I can decide what I want to do next. |

Hi Ron, I saw the title of this topic and found myself being very interested and hopefull. Your experience on this did certainly take these hope down a little. I hope you'll be able to get the thing running. Good luck! I hope you'll keep us informed |

I've got one of those (3054 E103) fitted it with a 60901 conversion, it ran great, but I then had a change of heart and put it back to standard analogue, call me mad if you want, the lok seems happier that way - rattling around with it's 24cm coaches! anyway good luck with your new conversion, as a fellow tinkerer I am curious to see the outcome.

Bad news Ron, the board that was burned is the one supllied with the c-sine motor? If so, some warranty? In order to make it work, perhaps you can use greater value resistors? You were absolutely sure that the plate fits PERFECTLY with the motor frame? Hope you can work it out. |

Francisco. I have sent an e-mail to Herr Iten about this. We'll see what happens. I thought the drivetrain was operating freely before the test, but after the test I noticed a slight binding at one point in the rotation. Perhaps that was the cause. |

mhmh, yes i think perhaps that may be the problem. Perhaps it is a good idea of replace all gears and axles. I'm doing it that way, changing everything if one gear is worned out, with the high efficiency kits i¡m installing in old locos. |

Looking forward to reading Mr Iten's response.... If it's just a small circuit board, it shouldn't be all that expensive to replace - hopefully. |

Hopefully. I was really looking forward to driving this lok with the c-sine motor. This one was my very first M lok and is special to me. |
