Grounding betw. transformers connected to boosters

I have installed a 6017 booster today to boost the power in my layout. I run 6021 Control Unit. The attached layout from the booster's manual depicts the connection of the grounding (brown cable) between the transformers. However it illustrates only old transformers. Now I have an old and a new (60052) transformer and I wonder how I can connect the new 60052 which has only one pair of outlets (one for brown and one for yellow). The older transformers had two separate sets of brown-yellow sockets to use. However the new 60052 transformer does not have any outlet for such a connection. My assumption is that even if I do not ground, there should not be a problem. In fact I tried without grounding and it worked. But I assume that grounding is an additional security. What should I do? Any ideas?  |

I would suggest that you connect all browns together at the booster side instead. The 6017 booster has two terminals for brown but you could easily connect two wires in each.
It will work also without this connection. The booster "brown" or "ground" are connected through the booster signal cables as well, and there is also a connection through the track. However, the system will be more electrically robust if there is a good ground connection between the boosters.
For electrical robustness I think it is better to connect the "brown" together at the booster side than on the transformer side. It is the boosters that benefit from a stable and common ground, the transformers don't care.

Both 6017 and 6021 simply connect brown between input and output.
The rails will make the connection anyway (so it'll work), but as Perz suggests I'd make a cable connection near the transformer or booster. |

If I understand correctly you suggest that I follow the attached connection scheme! Thus I connect the brown (right outlet) of 60052 with the left brown outlet of 6017. Am I getting it right?  |

Yes, brown to brown. Doesn't matter really if it is the left or right brown terminal, they are equivalent.
