haven't figured on taking it apart or even be able to test-run it yet but anyone know if a deltic decoder probably could fit in this small shell?
thanks

Small description of the locomotive, please . I’ve build in a Delta decoder 66032 into 3080 (DHG500 diesel switch locomotive). Little note, it has no lights. Made things more easy. |

well...its a little 3-axle (4th if you count the motor flywheel between middle and rear axle) diesel shunter engine
this thing has four lights (two per direction) located atop the end platforms at end edges
it actually seem to look like the actual light bulbs themself are underneath the end platforms as I only see what looks like a 90 degree bent clear plastic (or fibre?) light tube....know what, I'll link to the auction [where I won thig thing] for you to see for yourself.

littledragon: I converted a 3065 switcher, which I believe is basically the same body, with the 60903 high efficiency motor and decoder. As I recall (I did it several years ago) it was a tight fit but it all went in. There should be three lights on each end. There should be a lower "lichtkoerper" or light body to carry the light to the lower outlets and an upper one to carry it to the light on the top of the cab. It can be done, but as I said, it was a tight fit. There are other options, such as the Uhlenbrock decoders which work with the existing motor and fit in the same space as the reversing unit, but I have not been fully satisfied with the performance of that arrangement (I have done two). |

To give an idea how tight space can be. I have converted this DHG 500 (3080) with a Delta decoder. At the end, I was happy that there were no lights installed, and no Telex coupling. |

HelIo Little dragon I done a delta install on a 3144(similar/same to the3080 above) a long time ago with lights either end with no space problems. I just have to be careful putting the shell on and off. |
