Hello,

To all of the above items on the "wish list", I would like to include:

1) Retooled version of the classes 41, 23 and 24, with all bells and whistles and, hopefully if Marklin are not so cheap, full metal bodies and tender !!
2) UP and Pennsylvania passenger coaches in aluminium, including vista dome coaches
3) Retooled versions of the Bavarian, Swiss and German crocodiles with interior fittings in the cabin, instead of the trashy cables.
4) Some tank locomotive in Era I or II, like the classes 81 or 89, again in full metal bodies.

5) Greatest deception of 2005: the Henschel-Wegmann coaches made in plastic instead of metal. Locomotive without smoking function.

Greetings from Montreal,
Armando
Best regards,
Armando García

Märklin announced that the Rheingold train was the last made with tinplate. You could have known this.

I never knew about this. I don't remember reading it in the catalog. If that's the case, then it is really an unfortunate new trend at Märklin. I was expecting that such long-awaited model as the Henschel-Wegmann would be produced all in metal, as the "Fliegender Hamburger" was. I suppose that the "Blauer Enzian" will follow suit. I was really very dissappointed. Maybe Märklin should consider changing their names to Märklin-ROCO or Märklin-Lima-Roco. Hopefully, the plastic gears will not follow...
Best regards,
Armando García

It was not announced in the catalog, but in Insider News on 1/2004.
In Dutch it reads:

”Exclusief en alleen tijdens de Märklin-kunsttentoonstelling tot en met 15 februari 2004 verkoopt de Kunsthalle Tübingen deze speciale wagen in HO-uitvoering. Het zal de laatste wagen van tin-plate zijn die door Märklin wordt geproduceerd. Daarna worden de matrijzen in de motteballen gelegd en wordt de productie in tin-plate defenitief gestaakt.”

Exclusive and only during the Märklin art presentation till 15 february 2004 this special car will be sold (special blue version of the Rheingold car with text ”KUNSTHALLE TÜBINGEN”) in HO scale. This will be the last tin-plate car that Märklin will produce. After this the tin-plate production at Märklin will be stopped. The matrix of this car will be saved.

If you can get them, the Roco versions of the 01.5 and 18 201 are EXCELLENT in every regard. Very highly detailled, powerful, and incredibly smooth runners.

The BR 18.314=BR 02.0314 (DR) is based on a variant of the BR 18, I believe the one from Baden, and would be another unique model to make. As far as I know it has only been made as a high end brass model in H0 and as a 1 gauge model http://www.bockholt-lokomotiven.de/en/mod/dr_18314.html. It's a beautiful engine and can be seen live in Sinsheim &lt;http://www.technik-museum.de/&gt;.

UserPostedImage

The era III 05 would be hot, but need to be a complete new contstruction as the streamlined version has none of the rods/valvegear and the mechanism couldn't accomodate them. I'd love to see one.

I do have the Roco 18 201 and it is excellent indeed. I just wondered how a Märklin diecast version would look and run.

I ordered the extra tender for the 18 201 (Roco 69204), but given Roco's recent bankruptcy, I am afraid that it will never show up...

Kind regards,

Jacques

D&RGW Mogul Type 2-6-0 Steamer, all sounds, plus old style coaches

NYC GM/EMD F7 Diesel A+B, all sounds (same as former 37622, 37623)

D&RGW GM/EMD F7 Diesel A+B, all sounds ( - " - )

John

post scriptum: We gladly pay a bit more - but for a nice quiet running and that classic "M feeling" the loco frames & bodies in metal only, p l e a s e Smile

My real wish is to get quality products from M*. The number of problems many of us have had with the MFX (and even non-MFX digital) technologies and even smaller matters like small parts broken on a brand new Lok right out of the box (one that cost $400) is really sad. I would also like to never get M* products that have been made in China unless it is at a significant discount from those made in Germany. I have even experienced track QA problems, some curves with the inner rail also being used on the outer rail position (to short), two switches that were shorted out of the box (had to be sent back as they were not repairable), 3 or 4 motors that crapped out. Yes, we must talk about my 3 out of 3 MS that had to be replaced (one of them is getting flakey for the 2nd time). I am not trying to kick the dog, but after the GG1 failed in less that 2 hours, I seriously thought about putting everything up for sale and going to another manufacture. Not that it would be any better (don’t think it could be worse), but my guess is first the cost per item is less and second turn around on failed items would be much quicker. I have not started building my permanent layout yet and I am going to hold off until I see if the quality is going to improve.

Just my input

You have my deepest understanding. I own only one MFX-loco (#37991 BigBoy - and everything is perfectly well Smile), but the latest reports made me think twice. Thus I'll wait a little with that GG-1 buy til all those MFX-related bugs are out ...

By the way, I also have the BigBoy and I have not had any problems with it either. I do not recall anyone in this forum saying they had a problem with the BigBoy.

So maybe you have to pay $800+ for a Lok to ensure no problems! [}:)][}:)]

I have been playing with the BR50, have about 4 hours running with no problems! Also put it on the LokProgrammer and found that there are
8 different sounds stored (4 are not documented) on the decoder including a bell. The four undocumented sounds are not assigned to any functions (1-16) so they are not programmed to work on the CS. That does not make any since to me. If you have a LokProgrammer it is easy to turn them on but not everyone has one of those. The same holds for the V160 that came with the same set, it had three additional sounds not programmed for any functions.

My wish is: Märklin using Faulhaber type and/or the new C-Sinus motors in all Dampfloks, so I'll no longer see those horrible extraneous boxes at the Führerhaus sides, and using noiseless gears so I can hear ONLY the Loksound when the Loks run.

Hmm..

- EraI Bavarian tank loco with telex
- A whole bunch of non-special-limited-one-time-only EraI Bavarian freight and passenger cars
- The classic s3/6 mentioned above sounds good as well

Overal, more early era stuff really, maybe an Adler set just to keep it alive after the fire and all that.
- Martijn
(early planning : H0-scale Era I K.Bay.sts.b)
(active planning : N-scale mixed late Era Japanese)
(possibly something Z-scale as well ;))

An outsider.
I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

My wish for 2006 would be affordable (mfx) decoders which give great driving performance, similar to 6090x decoders, and which will not make our loks stutter, stumble or stop because our rails are not spotlessly clean...

(I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, sorry, but I really do not like the new (mfx) decoders: they are no improvement for those without a need for sound...)

Oh, and did I mention a BR 58?
IB since 2000. Latest loc aquisition: 37554 BR 55 a long time ago...

<br />My wish is: Märklin using Faulhaber type and/or the new C-Sinus motors in all Dampfloks, so I'll no longer see those horrible extraneous boxes at the Führerhaus sides, and using noiseless gears so I can hear ONLY the Loksound when the Loks run.

Marklin is already doing this. The older modells will not yet disaappear yet. I think so. But each year there will be less of them.

A br. 56 is possible a br. 58 maybe. But I don't think so.

M-track with a CS2.

Dear Santa,

If you make it this far, I would like the 100% duty taken off
and when you have achieved this the following,
37450 BR 45 loc.
39710 ICE
37971 KBay Loc and 43982 pass. car set.
Insider Snow Plough 26830
Condenser Steam Loc 37171
Texas and Pacific set.
AND last but not least the Idee/Spiel Graphiti set with the extra
cars. there no weathered BB, no CS should be easy.

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy.

ps. If room in bag, King Wilhelm would be nice.
Jeremy.

My wishlist for Marklin is.
Focus on quality, and not quantity.
Deliver the very best product that can be produced in a timly fashion.
Respond to your emails and mail in a good business like manner.
Don't go out of business because of poor management practices.

Thats all I'd Like from Marklin in 2006

a top quality marklin Leopold K5e would be awesome - metal body, turned aluminum/bass barrel, etched or wire railings. they could even do several runs, for different guns and paint schemes, to get as much $ as possible out of the tooling.
the old Lima one is pretty weak.

Maybe it's time M looked at producing other countries Locos( Maybe once they have sorted out their financial problems) biggrin
South African Railways had and has some fantastic machines; wink I would like to see a solid metal, class 9E. Three of these 50Kv (AC)monsters pull freight trains with a length that exceeds 2Kms.

I have a car with 2 red taillights. I would like to have another one for my second loco, but saw that only 4411 is added with a red taillight.
Perhaps for 2006: a brake or conductors van with red taillights, or some other goods car with a red taillight ?
Please no digital, a red light is just fine wink.

I would like to see some more colour in the line up, example Bemo have a great Blue croc (DC in HOm scale).
More maintenance vehicles
More articulated electrics...such as the E 95s or E 77s
More Swiss variations...

And I forgot...

Any of the really interesting and elegant and strange highspeed trains (the ICE sereis lack a certain amount of design flair).

So examples would be the Thalsys, and then any of the wonderful Japanese Bullets.

For accessories a station that has a camera so you can watch as a train goes by at full speed, even better is that you could be controlling the train at work! So your screen saver could take you to your layout.
