Hello from Florida,

I have been unsuccessful on google finding a color chart conversion for RAL and Pantone to something like Railroad Colors, Tamiya or Model Masters.

Specifically, I'm trying to find the U.S. equivalent of RAL 6016 and RAL 1021. In this regard - color tables and established values - the U.S. seems far behind our European counterparts (i.e. my hobby store paint "specialist" never heard of RAL or Pantone color values).

It's difficult to find an exact match between RAL and Federal Standard color nuances... I believe Testors have a cross reference chart somewhere between RAL and FS in a modeling book, and European Humbrol and Revell certainly have...

What I can offer is a listing of the colors with their RGB values at
https://www.marklin-users.net/ap...ns/ralcolors/default.asp

This is an embryo to a cross reference that will be published later....

Hello,

I once made a list in excell with the available colors from the different manufacturers. This list is far from correct but it might help. I have no idea how i can publish it here but if you want, give me a shout and i'll mail it to everybody who is interested. same also available in access format.

Knowledge of Pantone schema is pretty common in the art community. You might try an art store...

Bart, is it too much to ask if I could get your cross-reference so I have something to start with regarding the color utility intended for the site?

Having the info of color value comparisons (RAL, Pantone, etc) on a revamped users-net site would be an excellent feature. I only wish I had the information to contribute!
