Some advice please.. Just completed most of my joinery for a fairly large cellar layout and sizing up to get the 7286 turntable out and back running after 5 years of move/divorce/move/ more kids etc. Anyway it was not very willing and the upshot of this sorry tale is some very nasty acrid smoke rose up and it seems I have a dead motor. It is very complex and delicate but my regular supplier in Uk is not keen to undrtake the repair. Can you get new part? Has anyone had this before. I have the 7286, and i never had try to open it, plastic is too fragile...........
I'm sure that you can get another dealer to get proper service.......... |
 German trains era I-II and selected III, era depends on the mood, mostly Maerklin but i can be heretic if needed XD, heresy is no longer an issue.. LOL |

Hello Ralph, the 7286 motor is too small for its job and burns frequently. I don't have one but I've repaired at least two of them.
To reach the motor, you need to remove the bridge. Remove the screw at the center, then pull up the two metal halves of the center rail. You need to remove several of the pieces at the external circle,(those which have the tracks) to free up the bridge.
Now the dance starts... Be very carefull with the contacts, take notes about their location and position.
Remove the motor and try to get a new one. It's the same motor used by Fleischmann in the T3 loco.

Thanks for the advice, I am very wary of opening it up as I have done this and it was a nightmare to put ogether with the springs and the soldered contacts are extermely delicate.
Any one got the number for the part?

An old thread I know, but for reference purposes here are the Fleischmann part numbers for their 6652 turntable (same as Marklin 7286)  Here's the pdf file referred to in the spare parts list, in case it disappears in the future.  6652_13504.pdf (296kb) downloaded 62 time(s).Good to note that things such as the plastic handrails are still available - mine have become somewhat brittle.
