Hi all,

I am in the process of wiring my new layout. I intend to use a seperate main wire from the CU and each booster in a loop around the underside of the layout and connect to each as needed. My question is regarding these wires. I have read in some places that the wire should be an actual loop and in others that a loop creates a feedback that effects digital operation and there should be two seperate wires going out but not connected. Has anyone had any experience or insight into this question?

I think it has very little importance from electrical point of view whether you feed in a loop or a star configuration, but I think a star configuration should be marginally better. Loops pick up disturbances from other electric/electronic equipment easier than stars. But typically the track itself is a loop anyway... Another advice is to always feed "red" and "brown" in pairs and keep the red and brown feeder wires close to eachother.

If you twist the brown and red together, that would help some also. Remember, most network cable is "twisted pair". [Exoteric electrical mumbojumbo deleted] so that is how it works.
Just remember, the main bus wires should be larger than the feeder wires.

M* AC is so much easier than the old DC that I have yet to have much problems with wiring.

Perz and McLea,

Thank you for your responses. I have never had any problems in previous layouts, but I have wired everthing to Markin terminals and have not used bus wires before and I remember reading something about electrical interference. Yes the layout is really a loop, but my loops are so broken up with signals and boosters that there should be very little problem. I think I'll go with a star, it will work best with my layout.
