Is my memory playing tricks with me, or do I remember that I have seen a topic about this? Something about being "activated" with the 6021? But I cannot find it.

I have two mfx decoder from 6092? kits that will not register when I put the locos on the track.

Number 1:
The two symbols (squares) on top of the screen turns "black", but only to 1/3. Then it halts for a while and start all over again.

Number 2:
Used to work normally, but suddenly no reaction at all.

I have of course checked all electrical connections and cannot find any faults.

Does anybody have excperience with this?
Best regards Svein, Norway

Hi Svein,

I have had a faulty decoder on a very new loc behaving as your #2, please see details at:

https://www.marklin-user...ult.aspx?g=posts&t=6861.

I'm afraid I have no solution to offer, as my dealer shipped the loc. back to M* almost a month ago. Still waiting for getting it back [:(]

ESU decoder quartz issue; has been resolved with new decoder versions. Ask for a replacement decoder (should have a "gold" quartz).

Thank you for the information, Lutz. Is the "gold" quartz a viewable item, if you remove the body, or are there others means of identifying it?

Thanks for your information, folks.

Maybe it's time to swap them with sound decoders.
Best regards Svein, Norway

Hello Svein, can i ask you something irrelevant, what is the code of the loco that you have at your avatar?
An outsider.
I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

I do not think that's an irrelevant question, my friend Smile

It's a M# 3143 from 1983, NSB Di 3.605, slightly modified, though.
- Snow ploughs from M# 34635, NSB El 18.2241.
- New motor bogie with fcm (before 60904 was available).
- Converted with 60901, installed light in driver's cabins.
- Installed a 60932 sound decoder and a 28 mm speaker.

Hi Lutz,
As I have three more locs of the same batch more or less, I am very interested to know if one could identify a non-gold quartz and ask for a replacement.
