Don't know enough about Märklin's O gauge history to tell for sure. Seems real.

Hi,

I see no hint, that there is smothing wrong with that car.

But we should not mix up "fakes" with "replicas" or "reproductions".

In my understanding a "fake" is something bad. A fake is a fraud.

But very honorable men built also reproductions and replicas. So e.g. Mr. HEHR. His locos always have a HEHR-plate instead of the Markln-one.

Are there known "reproductions" of the Flying Hamburger? If so, are they marked as reproductions and how are they marked?

I have no problem with quality reproductions as long as they are clearly marked as such and there is no intent to defraud the buyer.

Thanks.

Hi,

that "Hamburger" offered in that auction is a starter-model w/o remote-switching. These (former) cheap models are not really rare and have never been reproduced.

Repros exist of everything which is "rare". So all better locos (HR and above+ TKs) and all better cars ( "Model"-series tankers, 1945 cars (like yours)...) These are everytime clearly marked.

Fakes exist mostly from models which can be "develloped" from cheaper models. "Rheingold" or international liveraies on 1945 ff cars, TKs made from HRs. The complete catalogue would fill a book.

Best regards

Markus
