I would appreciate learning more about this type of track.

What years was it made?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/e...19&item=290021102743

Was this a good price for the items listed?

Is there a web site with more information about this type of track?

Thanks.

Does Marklin currently manufacture O Gauge track?

If not, do any list members know where this type of track and switches are for sale?

Thanks.

Märklin don't manufacture O Gauge track anymore, dropped that line just after the WW2.

Alfred Becker made replica's of them,but I don't know if he still does. Contact him,he could tell you a lot about 0-gauge.

His adress;

Helga u. Alfred Becker
24939 Flensburg
Apenraderstr. 178
Tel.: 0461/46672
Fax: 0461/1505906
mail: alfred-becker@foni.net

Also www.williwill.de still has some.

And I found these replicas on ebay;

And this one;

Search on google or ebay germany for "modellschienen"

Hello,

it was a fair price. A little bit low if I calculate the usual prices for these rails on the German market. Half and straight pieces are pretty rare if original.

That track was introduced in 1935 and produced until WW II (1939/1940) (from D13 1936):

After WWII various Replicas were made: HEHR and DARSTEDT ar the most common. But only Maärklin-rails are stamped "MÄRKLIN" on the rail.

Marklin ceased the production of 0-Gauge in 1954. In 1970 they introduced the MINEX-narrow-gauge railway (until 1972) in 1:43.5 but that's another story.
