M's new management [xx(][xx(][xx(] doesn't even know about the previous stuff - let alone have it stocked.
So they deleted [xx(][xx(][xx(] all F7s, BIGBOYS, MIKADOS, Box Cars, Tank Cars, Flat Cars and Hoppers.
New customers are supposed to switch those two Cabooses with the last remaining PA-1 and GG-1 biggrin

John, we will have to see what is offered in the Trix catalog. I remember the marklin rep saying that you will most likely have to buy the trix model and swap wheels and couplers, as marklin is not going to duplicate as many trix and visa versa [:(]

Maybe it will take another 20 years until M* continues their US program [xx(]...
Considering my purchases in 2006 and 2007 there were hardly any M* items amongst them (motor brushes!). Rather: Kadee, IHC, Rivarossi, Modelpower, and some 2nd hand stuff... For 2008 the same is to be expected.

The same here, I've hardly bought any M the last two years (2 trix cars last fall if that counts...).
Out of the >$1500/year I spend on this great hobby, M gets but a few bucks. They simply have nothing to offer a US-railfan...

Considering the no of the set is 29490, one could assume it's 'just' a 37490 (the black/green GG-1). Whilst they're at it, 're-cycling' oldies, we'll probably see the PRR caboose + cars from previous sets [:(]. BUT there is always hope...

The dark green GG-1 sold so well she was out of stock, fast Cool
My guess for that PRR Starter Set: brown GG-1, brown Box Cars, brown Caboose, MS, C-track.

But there's always hope for a MIKADO or PA-1 in new livery during 2008 ...

You have almost unlimited possibilities and also several high-quality brands such as Branchline Trains (definitively my favorite for both passenger and freight cars), Intermountain, Proto 2000, Genesis, etc.

Thank you Nev Smile, this is a loco from another era, not only the prototype but the model as well.
You should get one, although it is a nice loco you can still find many of them at ebay.
It was produced 18 years ago.

About M 37622 - Santa Fe F7 A+B

Johns first picture just above here shows the 37622 pictured in the news 1998. The locomotive is passing a beach full of people. In this picture you can clearly see that the B-unit and the "Super cheif" indianhead is in the right direction with indianhead pointing forward. This was ofcouse how the Santa Fe company wanted it to look like, and with the combination of one A-unit and one B-unit it usually did.

When added more locomotives, A or B-units, or changing/splitting up units to put in a new group of units, the indianhead sometimes ofcouse ended up "backwards". But as said, this was very unusual in a A+B combination.

To the point! The right-combination pre-production M 37622 showed in News-1998 was mysteriously changed when going in to serial production. 37622 was sadly released with a "backward" B-unit. That is a mystery to me, and i guess for the Super Cheif too.
Cool

Right. On my (regular production) #37622 that indian's head is also wrong, of course.
But then I tend to forgive such minor flaws ... Smile

Well John, wee are all different. I never forget those minor flaws appearing in the Marklin products once in a while. I see it as a very interesting subject for investigations. wink
