Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum, but not to DCC and model railroading. As I'm planning my new layout using Marklin C/K track I am also looking at command station options, and I am curious about what happens when a new marklin decoder equipped engine is placed on ESU ECosDetector segment that has RailCom feedback. I expect that the detector will at least report the track segment as occupied by the engine, but I am also wondering whether railcom will report back the engine ID given the fact that most recent marklin decoders speak DCC. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks for help

Konrad

Hello!
ESU do have EcosDetector standard without RailCom or with RailCom.
So i recommended you get a Ecos 50210 digital system which also have RailCom system.
To use RailCom system you must use DCC protocol.
Märklins CS3 do not have RailCom system.
Märklins loco decoder do not have CV adress to support RailCom but they have DCC protocol.
H0
DCC = Digital Command Control
