Hello

We will be a couple of days in Hamburg around the 10e of September during our European vacation, and obviously reserved already tickets to visit Miniature Wonderland....
Are there any good model train or other model hobby shops in the general area there that one would recommend to visit?

Regards

Jean-Pierre

Of course you will want to visit Miniatur Wunderland! It's right in the harbor canal area.

I visited Modellbahn Uwe Hesse when in Hamburg in 2019. The shop is north of Hamburg Station, about 30 min on foot. The shop is well stocked and I purchased my Marklin Br187 from there. Plenty of shop photos on Google for you to check.

There is an underground station nearby, but I'll have to look up my photos to find the line number and stop.

This is the closest Underground Station

The Station comes up onto the street here, the Uwe Hesse model shop is down this street past the Shell service station then the next street on the right.

The Shell station is on the corner of the street you need to go down - turn right at that corner. Shop is a couple of hundred metres on the other side of the street.

The Marklin Store was about a 20 minute walk away from Uwe Hesse, but it has moved since I was there in 2019.

The shop is also located in the immediate vicinity (100 m) of the "Landwehr" S-Bahn station on the route between Hamburg Airport and Hamburg Central Station, which can be used with the same ticket as the underground.
