Hi

I have a BR 212 37000, one of my first digital with sound Loks. It is a wonderful model and nice sound functions, but I have not run it much. Sad The Lok gets stuck at many switches because of the Telex couplers, they are too low and catch the punktos. I have searched here and the web in general to see if there is a solution to this issue, but I have not found any.
I have heard of some people that have removed the Telex couplers due to this problem.

I thought I would ask if anyone has come up with a solution.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kai

Take a picture of the model from the side and from below to see why the telex is low, maybe not mounted correctly?

Kai

I have the exact same lok that had the exact same issue. Sad
Some posts stated you have to bend them back up, but that does not work....

What i did, is turn the NEM pocket upside down and it works like a charm now, coupler is at the correct high and everything.
If I didn't know better i would even say that the pockets where installed wrong at the factory.....Confused

Regards

Jean-Pierre

Hi Jean-Pierre.
That is what I was think too, to try to bend then up, I didn't know if it would work because they would now be on a bit of an angle.

Great tip, rotate the NEM pocket 180 degrees.

I have read that some Loks had the speaker wired up incorrectly, so having the NEM pockets mounted up-side-down is not a far stretch of the imagination Scared

Thanks,
Kai

Hi
It worked.

Here are some photos of the steps I took, I hope it will help someone else. It is a fairly easy fix.

There are 3 screws per bogie, two towards the front (outside of the Lok) and one towards the middle of the Lok.
(the arrow points to the place where the 2nd screw, in the front is, which is hidden by the slider in this picture.)
Remove the 2 screws towards the front, and only loosen the one towards the middle.

Here I have removed the NEM coupling pocket from the bogie, but the coupler is still in the NEM pocket. The pocket in this photo is still upside-down, in the red circle shows that the edge comes to a point, this should be facing upwards.
The arrows point to the holes from the two removed screws.

If you take a very fine screw driver and place it on the top side of the coupler, between the metal plate and the NEM pocket, give it a twist and the coupler should come out.

Flip the NEM pocket right side up (in the circle you can see that the edge on the bottom side of the NEM pocket is straight, compared to the 2nd photo were the top side of the NEM pocket, the edge comes to a point.) I hope this is clear.Huh
Return the NEM pocket right side up to the bogie ensuring that the pins on the NEM pocket line up with the holes in the bogie.
The red circle on the left shows the screw towards the middle of the Lok is still in place, just loose.

Thanks again Jean-Pierre,
and I hope my explanation is clear and will be helpful.

All the best,
Kai

Hello JohnjeanB

I'm sorry I don't understand.
What do you mean by it being purposeless?

Hi Kai
I erased my post because you and Jean Pierre solved the issue and documented it very well.
So my answer was less precise and too late so I deleted it. Sorry

Cheers
Jean
