Hello

I am updating software in a 60213 Central Station 2 for a friend of mine.
I can get the updating done up until software version 3.5.99 but I do not seem to be able to get to 4.2.xx version.

By comparison, my 60215 Central Station 2 has got software version 4.2.9

What should the correct latest version be for the 60213 and for the 60215 ?
Should they be the same software version ?

I cannot easily find the answer on the Marklin website.

Regards
John

According to maerklin.de the latest version is 4.3.0(5) - and that should apply to all CS2.

You can get version 4.2 as a USB update. Worth a try if the CS2 cannot download the updated from the web.

As Tom (H0) says they should both be able to get to the same.

The best way is to connect it to the 'net so it can talk to Marklin and work its way through all stages it needs to to get to the current version. There was a point where very old software had to be updated to a certain revision before it would update to the current revision. I think that is where you are at, so connect it to the internet and let the Marklin download site sort that out for you.

And it is best to connect to the 'net to get the latest version because there are many of the smaller intermediate updates that do not get issued to download to a USB stick - and the current 4.3.0 upgrade that Tom mentions is one of them.

Hi all

Thank you so much for the encouragement.
I managed to get the software update to 4.3.0 on the 60213 Central Station 2 from the earlier software version 3.5.99
(and even software version1.0.2 before that when I received the Central Station)

How was it done ?
1. I downloaded the cs2update.tgz and the cs2update.img files to a USB stick, and insert this USB into the Central Station
2. Connect the Central Station to the router for the internet
3. Select USB on the Setup Screen
4. Select Update by USB
