I know this is probably a stupid question. My brother has given me his analog Marklin train set along with a 6023 digital central unit and a 6040 keyboard. The engines are digital, but the switches are analog. Is it possible to hook up analog switches to the 6040 keyboard? I do have the analog boxes as well, but it would be nice to be able to use the whole digital unit together.

You need to buy some k83 decoders to drive the switches. One k83 will drive four switches, and the 6040 keyboard you have can control four k83 decoders.
