I am trying to add interior lighting to the UP coach set 43617 and I have run into a problem.

These coaches have everything needed to add CC couplers except for the copper strip which connects the metal plate in the coach to the coupler pocket. A dealer indicated that 72020/21 kits would work and I bought them without doing enough of my own research. These coaches do not come with that copper strip installed, and it is very different from the ones in most Märklin CC coupler systems, as supplied in the CC kits.

Here is the coupler pocket, the correct strip from another Budd coach and the ones that come with the 72020/72021 kits:

I have not found a parts list for any of these coaches and I am hoping that one of the parts wizards here on the forum can help me out. I know that they will not be easy to find but if I have a part number at least I would be on the right track, so to speak.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

Dear both,

I believe this is rather about Märklin E580730 Current Conducting Contact Springs for Budd Streamliner Coaches, which just happen to be on offer by a vendor in the USA - see ebay link?

I knew that I could count on the forum to help me out with this! ThumpUp

Your link foumaro is for the coupler pocket, which I already have. My image showing that part was probably confusing and thanks for your help.

Alterseek's link is for the parts that I need and they are even here in the US, which is a big plus! Thanks for the quick reply.

Saved by marklin-users.net once again! BigGrin
