Hello,

I want to download a PDF with technical information and an exploded view of a model from the Marklin insiders part of the official Marklin site in Germany.

When I point at the PDF file I can see that below in my screen it points to: javascript:generator ('3000"')
This is the number of the locomotive for example need. Then the PDF does not appear.

Other PDF's point to a name with the extension name.pdf
Those other PDF's I can download from the Marklin site.

I use Windows XP an Acrobat Reader 7.0.7

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance.

Simon

I don't why only that .pdf wouldn't work for you. I did manage to download it, so if you want I can e-mail it to you. Since all of the other .pdf files open for you I would tend to think that it is a problem with that pdf and not your computer.

Ira thanks.
The number 3000 was just an example.
I can download not a single PDF file from this part of the marklin site.

When you stand on the PDF file, what do you see down in your screen?
Is it a file with the PDF extension, or do you get the same as I do?

Hallo Simon,

When I point at a file it shows just like you said javascript:generator('37884')for example.
I've had some problems with Märklins website related to product pictures which didn't show.It appeared my security settings were too high.
Just an idea but is it possible this is the cause of your problem too?

Kind regards
Guus

The explosion drawings are combined with the current parts list; therefor you first need to open the corresponding window (this is what the javascript does and what also happens when you access these lists via the public service pages). You then can save the file on your own media (default name is "productno_explo").

Just use the LEFT mouse button.

Different to that, the operating instructions can be directly saved using the RIGHT mouse button (they are only available in the Insider area)

Regards,
Lutz

PS: Hope you have also noted that the new Insider 2/2006 is already posted there.

I get the file with the .pdf extension. Guus might have a point about your security settings.

I have got problems in changing my security level.
When I change it from High to Normal, Windows does not accept that change and keeps the securitylevel on High.
The PDF from the public part on the Marklin site, are for me possible to see and download.

I did already sent a mail to Marklin, but don't expect mutch help there, since I expect that it has to do with my own system and probably not the site.

Send me an e-mail with your address and I'll e-mail the .pdf to you.

Agree (from history), however it is important, if not curteous, to let them know that there is an issue and to give them first right of reply (even if it is not used). Also the speed to which a vendor responds is proportional to the constructive (negative?) feedback.

No, I can confirm that I have one system that appears to be experienceing similar symptoms to yours. I have no intention of reducing security (if that really is the issue) for a simple .pdf document.

Hello,

My problems are solved.
I did lower the security level, from high to normal. Even though XP says that the level is still high, actually the normal settings are used.
Now I can get both the PDF's on the public site as on the insiders site.
Thanks for al your help.

Simon
