As three updates have passed/arrived, the following 'error' is still on my screen with my lokprogrammer software.
Current version 2.5.7.211

When assigning functions with the programmer, the 'AUX1' option is not there. Instead there appears to be a second 'rear light' but I guess this must be AUX1.
This looks wrong to me...someone noticed this too?

I am in doubt about using AUX1 as I do not seem to get the smoke unit working on my lok again...

Gert-Jan:

I, too, have noticed this. I just assume that it is Aux1 and it seems to work.

Gert-Jan,

I think too this is just a labelling issue without any functional impact. At least in the German version everything seems to be correct.

My "little problem" with the programmer SW is just that it still converts a MM adress of 255 to "26"; apparently it doesn't like 3 digits. biggrin

Lutz:

Thanks for your (obvious) tip. I have switched to German language too, and it showed up correctly.

There must be something else wrong with my smoke unit [:(]

I also using Rauchgenerator / Steam Generator for output configuration. I am not sure if this is any better than Dimmer level 255.

I think I must check the wiring of the loc...

Gert-Jan,

have you tested the smoke unit without connection to the decoder, just to the track? What type of smoker do you use (does it maybe draw too much current)?

Second test then is to place a bulb or meter at the function output instead of the smoke unit and check correct basic function of the decoder output.

Actually I have noticed that even the Märklin mfx-decoders for the steamers are configured for "Dimmer" and not "Rauchgenerator" as one would assume at the corresponding function output (mostly f1).

Regards,
Lutz
