Hi all,

Just received the 39030 today IMHO it is a super model! I rate it 9 in 10.
Super detailed and I like the way it runs, although not tested graded routes.
Only 3 things to be really out of this world:
1- Metal cabin (like for example BR18.1)
2- Painted inside the cockpit/cabin
3- Telex coupler
4- fire simulating led more orange/yellow than rso redish as it is
All 2, 3 and 4 maybe solved in a next edition.

Best regards,
Miguel

thanks for sharing with the reviewing. I still wait for my 39030 coming. Sad

I have seen the Marklin TV video on Youtube, noticing the sound of whistle and brake quite different from the other locomotives of Marklin. Apparently, sound effect of 39030 sounds real than others. ThumpUp

The only thing i feel pity is the lack of the inner moveable crank and side rod like Fleishmann BR18.6. Sad

Does Marklin plan to add the newly mechanical function as inner crank and side rod in new steam locomotive ?

Hi again,

Yes, the sound is superb IMHO. One interesting thing is that the short whistle doesn't play always the same when you press the
assigned function key. I found 3 different short whistles (kind of different ways of the same whistle being played).
At first it seemed to me that it was dependent on the time I pressed the function key, but after some time it seems it is random. In the CS2
the function appears configured as momentary.

Best regards,

Someone shares with whistle impression at Stummiforum, mentioning the sound as follows.......kurzer Pfiff, kurzer Pfiff mit Nachhall, kurzer hoher Pfiff, zwei verschiedene "Melodien" mit unterschiedlichen hoch- und tief-Tönen....

Google translation: (Short whistle short whistle with reverberation, short high whistle, two different "tunes" with different high and low tones)

Mine arrived last week, and so far I'm very pleased with it !BigGrin
Details seem good, accessories include Cab Crew etc, even the stopping and starting is not too bad altho, can't match my 01.147 39010 with SDS, which I am testing at the same time, for ultimate smoothness.
However the sounds are superb, altho loud, and with my CS1-R, do not want to be edited, ThumbDown The switching whistle seems to do a short toot or a slightly longer or even double toot sometimes, it depends how I hold the stylus, or is it my mouth Wink ThumpUp

Only slightly negative comment, is that the smoke unit smokes like crazy, which is kind of good, but burns thru the fluid very quickly, and that is not so good RollEyes Too much fluid and it doesn't burn at all Bored

" Every Marklin layout needs a V200, a Railbus and a Banana car", not to mention a few Black and red Steamers, oh and the odd Elok !

CS1 Reloaded, Touch Cab, C Track Modules, K track layout all under construction. Currently Insider

Please see post number 4. This loco has random 3 different types of sound for the short toot function. :)

The 39030 according to the catalog doesn't support DCC. It supports mfx+. The Trix version 22880 supports mfx and DCC (not mfx+).
In the configuration screen I looked at the protocol drop down menu and it was in grey so not allowing any change.
This is not a problem for me as I use mfx everytime I can Despite this and just for curiosity, does anyone of you know if it is possible the 39030 be controlled using DCC and if so how can one change the configuration to allow it?

Miguel
