Hello Everyone,

Inspired by Kimballthurlow’s “Please show us a picture of . . . .” topic, I’ll try to start a new thread in a similar vein. Since part of my fun pursuing this hobby is mixing-and-matching rolling stock with locos, I’d love to see how others do that. I’ll suggest two mixing options:

A. The same locomotive pulling different car consists; or
B. The same car consist pulled by different locomotives.

As an example of both options, I’ve attached four photos to start. The first three show the same loco (37481 EG 2) pulling different consists; the last two show the same consist (43981 Palatine cars) pulled by different locos (the EG 2 and a 37077 T 18). Of those four, the 1st and the 4th are my favorites.

The mixes pictured are intended to reflect Eras I & II, but all of them are flawed prototypically; e.g., a Bavarian EG 2 probably never pulled Nuremberg coaches, let alone DB Thunderboxes (1st & 2nd photos), and a Prussian T 18 rarely if ever headed a rake of Palatine coaches (4th photo), etc. For me that’s not a huge issue as long as the car types are generally OK for the period

Again, I’d love to see your creative mixing options – any Eras, passenger or freight, diesel, electric or steam, modern models or vintage Relex stock from the 1950s, prototypically correct or not. If there’s interest in this topic, I’ll post a few more examples from my collection in a week or two.

Thanks & I look forward to learning from you all.

Best Regards -- Richard
