Hi can any one tell me if M track point lanterns will stop the movement of the TEE Inox coaches as they run through the points. I have the points and i want the 2012 inox coach set which has already been done as the etoie de Nord set. I pefer to use M track for my storage loop in the future as i have some already!

The old M track turnouts with the large lantern do sometimes foul the longer coaches. Would it be easy to change the turnouts in the future if you find you do have clearance problems? Are your storage loops accessible?

I would ask, why limit the coaches you might want to run in the future for the cost of a few turnouts? You can stay with M track but use the more modern turnouts with the small lanterns.

On the other hand, my experience with M track led me to change the whole layout to C track and I'm so much happier with the running and the look of it now that I would never go back to M track. Of course if your collection is purely old stuff from the '50s and '60s then M track is more appropriate.

When all is said and done, it's down to your preference really!

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

The old points with the big lanterns can foul the "new" scale length coaches. The ones with the small lanterns should be OK. If you have the old type in a hidden storage yard simply remove the lantern cover and bulb. They will still work.

Hi , If you look at some of my videos, particularly my aerial tour one, you will
see that I had to remove some lanterns (old larger ones) on some points to avoid contact with some psgr cars and my old 3021 V200 diesel. Peter Mellow
