Nice. Those are so beautiful - thanks for the look! ThumpUp

Just last year I finally got my first Alco PA set - the blue and gold Delaware & Hudson Montreal Limited AA pair, which were formerly Santa Fe locos - and of course they are in that gorgeous warbonnet livery but in D&H colors. I have a Big Boy and a Challenger and some other very nice locos/trains but they are the most beautiful locos that I have ever seen! Even after years of collecting Märklin I was not prepared for just how substantial, powerful, yet also beautiful and finely detailed they are.

I have never seen a PA or PB in the metal and I had doubts when people proclaimed the Alco PAs the most beautiful diesels ever, but I now think that they must be correct. I never would have known that if I had not seen Märklin's lovely models and now I must go find some of the real thing and see them for myself. Until then my Montreal Limited rules the rails on my layout, regardless of what other trains are running along side. Cool
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

A Stummi Forum member has split a Märklin Alco PA-PA consist with an EMD F7B unit by extending the connection cables. Scroll down to (German, but illustrated) post no 124:
