Is there anywhere I can view or download the first 20 episodes of Marklin TV in english? I have watched a few early episodes but missed the first ten all together. Is there a way to save the current episodes on my computer? I could not locate any on this site.

Thanks,

Art

Art,

Not sure where to get older episodes but I use Real Player Download (RPD) on my laptop and desktop (both are MS XP Pro). If any video on the web hasn't blocked RPD, when you move your cursor over the video, a little icon pops up over the right hand corner of the video that says "Download This Video". Click on it and RPD opens up and downloads the video.

Good Luck!!

Robert

P.S. RPD is free ...

As an update. RealPlayer DOwnload doesn't work yet with the latest Firefox browser (5.0?). However they do have a video downloader add-on that does work. I just tried it and it works.

I have all episodes, except for episode 1, and the episode 12 I have is the German one.

To download them, I use a Firefox plugin called Netvideohunter. This allows me to download videos from sites with no obvious download process.

As for the first 10 episodes (or the 9 we have) send a PM to our Webmaster, as he has all of my videos, and may be able to make them available to you.

BTW, if you have episode 12 in English, I'd be happy to swap.

I have downloaded realplayer and saved the current videos. I earlier tried saving one of the videos as a web archive. When I replay that file i see a video in german with some marklin employees restoring a clock tower mechanics with electronics? Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks,

Art

I now have all english Marklin TV episodes from 1 to 28. Thanks to Maxi who supplied the missing episodes (plus I gave him some he didn't have).

My Windows Media Player only plays the soundtrack, but shows no pictures (maybe it can with an additional CODEC).

The VLC Media Player is free and works very good (there also is a free version of Real Player that can also play the files).

Tom

Hi Pål, the short answer to both your questions is Yes.

I usually use VLC to play the files, but they do play in the version of media player that is on my PC (I'm running Windows 7 SP1, so I have media player v 12.0.7601.17514) I also have some additional codecs installed, a package called ffdshow which seems to include pretty much every codec you will ever need. Google it to find where to download it.

Found the ffdshow download link here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ffdshow.htm

ffdshow decodes DivX, XviD, H.264, FLV1, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, MPEG-4 movies. Marklin TV files appear to be MPEG-4 files.

Dear David,

I'm new in the forum, but I follow it since long time.
I'm a Märklin enthusiast from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I'm searching for the subject of this thread: older Märklin TV episodes. I had many of that, but a computer crash make me lost a lot of them.

I previoulsy contacted with Mr Pål, who recomend contact you for this matter.

Thank you!
Leonardo

Where are the links to download this said, "Marklin TV" .. sounds like a TV dreamland until I see it.
I did watch something off of Youtube.com in German with my wife the other night. She studied german in high school and I took a bit too, but it was not enough to get it all, maybe just the gist of the program and about 20% if the dialogue.

It was about the burglary of the museum and the resolution of the insolvency.

Marklin TV is available to Insider Club Members only, although there is a also public Marklin website that carries the German edition.

I have all of the English editions, and have made them available for Juhan to publish on this site, but ultimately it will be Juhan's choice as to when he makes them publicly available.
