Hello,

I just noticed that www.reisezuege.ch has added a few new options to their website. One of these is a list of trains by composition:

http://www.reisezuege.ch/reisezuege/index.php?action=12

This is a very useful guide for anybody modelling Swiss trains.

Thanks for the link Mike!

Do you know if there is a similar link for Austrian (Öbb) or Italian (FS) train compositions?

I would have thought that the existence of this site would have prompted people in other countries to do similar for their national railways as well.

There was a site in Germany that had a lot of info about DB and OBB Consists. I think it may have been zugbildung.de but the site has been replaced by a notice of a new internet presence. I do remember that many of the posts had been made by Tobias Kohler.

There are sites that have information on Belgian and French consists.

SNCF and International (with model photos):
http://e.bournez.free.fr/Eurocity.html

SNCB:
http://www.belrail.be/F/...ntl/classique/index.html
discontinued services:
http://www.belrail.be/F/.../intl/classique/old.html

Other:
http://www.lsmodels.com/...positions_de_rames_F.htm
www.fernbahn.de
http://www.vonderruhren....ahn/seiten/intern4_1.htm

These sites offer mostly contemporary or recent consist information.
For older German consists, Miba had published a series of books on Eras IV, III and II. You can also check the following site for information on some trains:

http://www.heinrich-hanke.de/eisenbahn/zugbildung/

Finally, there were also a few posts in Drehscheibe Online and other forums that contained some interesting information, like the one here:

Goofy,

I specifically mentioned that the site contains current information and goes back only as far as 2004. Unfortunately, there are not too many sites that include historical information.

You may find the Heinrich Hanke information useful, or you may wish to seek out the Miba books for Eras II, III and IV.

I am always looking for more information on consists between 1968 and today, specifically those that operated in Switzerland or through that country.

I hope that you find some information that is more interesting to you and I am sad that modern consists are boring to you. Many of us are happy to have any additional information about consists and will not criticize a site or a source because it focuses on one period only.

Regards
