As I mentioned elsewhere, I have a brand new Borsig BR53.0 that stopped working after an hour or so's running. I contacted the German dealer that I bought it from and he appears not to be interested and suggested I take it to a Marklin dealer to get it repaired.

Apart from the fact that I got it from a German dealer through eBay, so do not have a proper receipt (or delivery note), I feel that it's a bit of a cheek taking it to a British dealer having bought it abroad. And anyway, are there actually any UK Marklin dealers any more? There are ex dealers who are selling off old stock and any store can obtain Marklin from the importer (who does not have a Web presence) as all items have to be paid for up front. (I guess Trix and LGB are in the same boat as well.) Anyway, my questions are:

1) Are there any official Marklin dealers selling Z in the UK and, if so, who are they?

2) Are there any model loco repairers that will repair Z scale locos? If so, who are they?

That's it. My 'star' loco lies comatose and I have an exhibition on 7th/8th November. :o(

All the best,
Chris.

Ring Marklin and see if the Marklin Repair Centre will fix it for you.

Chris, I spoke to this man earlier this year. He seemed very knowledgeable. This is his email address. jo@messe.freeserve.co.uk

I don't know if he does Z gauge, but it is worth a try. He lives in Towcester, Northamptonshire. Good luck, Alan.

Hi BigDaddy.

I had a look on Google and could not find any useful reference to the Marklin Repair Centre. There is certainly nothing in the UK and a world wide search didn't come up with anything useful as far as I could see. I have to admit, I am pretty hopeless when it comes to finding things. Do anyone have a phone number?

Hi also aos. I will hang on for a couple of days and then see where I have got. I have had a response from the seller and my be able to come to some arrangement.

All the best, and thank you,
Chris.

Hi Chris,

There's a guy who lives in Gravesend who repairs Maerklin, Trix and LGB. Should I pm you his email address?

Pete

Yes please, Pete. While the original problem has (I hope) been resolved by the German dealer, I have several locos that need repair action.

All the best,
Chris.
