Hello all,

My father passed away recently and among his personal items is a collection of Marklin Z-gauge trains, track and various accessories. While I could just put them on eBay, I'd much rather they went to someone who'd appreciate them. Failing that, any advice on selling items like these would be welcomed.

The full list is here; one or two don't have ID numbers that I can find. Almost everything is in its original packaging (my dad was a stickler for keeping the boxes!) but I can't verify how well anything works.

ID no Item
212 Track planning stencil
88713 InterCity-Express (ICE 3) high speed train, 5 car train. Dutch State Railways (NS) class 406.
8505 Straight Track 220mm
89690 2x High Rise buildings
87456 Swiss Express Train Passenger Car Set
87354 Austria ÖBB Skirted Passenger Car
8991 Track buffer stop
N/A assorted pieces of track
886003 Phox wagon
8604 ÖBB car, cast chassis with metal wheels, blue articulated lorry with blue trailer
82154 DB Fertrans Sliding Wall Wagon
88450 Electric Cl 460 Powered - SBB locomotive
8568 Curved Electric Turnout, 4-3/8-Inch, Left Hand
8569 Curved Electric Turnout, 4-3/8-Inch, Right Hand
82622 3x SNCF grain wagons
8610-5 Museumswagen 1993 (low-side car loaded with furniture van)
?? Blue wagon with Marklin logo
8185 Swiss SBB-CFF Freight Train Set

A bit of research indicates that the items above are selling currently for a range from a few pounds for the track pieces, to a few tens of pounds for some of the waggons and accessories, to a couple of hundred for items 88713, 87456, 87354 and 8185. However I appreciate these may be for new items rather than secondhand.

Either any interest in buying, or any advice on selling, would be appreciated! I'm potentially willing to drive within about a 50-mile radius of southwest London to deliver.

With a bit more time I can add photos (can you add photos to a post on this forum?)

Thanks for reading,
Tim Clarke

When composing a post click on the paper clip icon and follow the directions. There is a limit to the maximum size of pictures you can put in a single post (it shows how much you have used).

One should be able to keep each photo down to 100KB.

I bought one of Tim's items (the track planning stencil). It arrived quickly, well packed and in great condition.
