Good Evening, my name is Mads and i recently picked up this hobby which I am enjoying a lot and I would like to integrate feedback in my layout.

I have purchased the Ecos Detector Standard, but it is not being registered in the CS1. CS1 is firmware 2.0.3

Are anyone running this detector without the Ecos reload firmware? The CS1R firmware is no longer available for purchase, or is the some dealers still selling it?

Thank you.

Hi Mads
Welcome to this great forum.
Here is the little I know:
- the Märklin CS1 (60212) must have the revision 2.0.4 to be complete for Märklin (I believe it is too late for a Märklin update).
- only then, can it be connected to 6088 feed-back modules to write little MEMORY logic
- alternately, it can be upgraded by ESU and become also DCC compatible with v3.0.0

The ESU Ecos detector standard 50096 can work with the CS1 "reloaded" (Updated by ESU)

So, not sure here:
- Märklin does not do ANYTHING on this ESU-designed unit and update 2.0.4 is not available
- ESU proposes an Update auf V 3.0.0 BUT: is it still available, will it work with Märklin version 2.0.3

My personal opinion if I may:
- I have a CS1 V2.0.4 and it is very poor and not helping
- I jumped to a CS2 in 2010 and to a CS3 in 2019 and the difference is HUGE
- why spend time and money on this very old unit (screen is monochrome, power is weak, processor is very slow, reliability (assembly of multiple modules) is questionable.

Here is my layout with a CS2 (at the time), 100W power supply and 140 feedback sensors
