Hi BHP
It looks like a good tip but alas:
- Märklin does not sell it on the web page nor on the shop
- I checked with 3 large German distributors (Lippe, Härtle, Berlinski) and none of them propose these barebone decoders.
- I checked on ebay (dot) de and I found only one occurence

Look here
https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_...klin+356776&_sacat=0

So, am I missing something?
Cheers
Jean

HI
I had to write an email to a dealer and ask for it, as it's not on their web pages. and also my Norwegian dealer was not able to order it from Märklin.
I noticed when I was listed through the Märklin "Order spare parts" link, it was listed as a special item only available through dealers.

Thanks bph. I have lots of those parts just laying about already and I only really need the decoders.

I will have to check that out.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

As of today I could order 5 complete sets 60975 for less than € 70 each incl. postage and VAT, so why should I order single decoders?
Are there dealers that offer discounts for single decoders?
Regards
Tom

Microchips are commodities and the cost changes frequently.

Great if you can get them for that price ThumpUp but a guess, is that some of the best offerings are most likely old stock purchased at a lower price, compared to today's prices. In the 1st post, I was just referring to current Marklin recommended retail prices........
And when you live outside the EU, things are more expensive. And some of the shops that sell at the best prices don't ship outside Germany/Europe and don't deduct German VAT etc. So for me, it quickly becomes expensive to buy the "cheapest option".
The decoders I received were all with the latest PCB revision and with the latest firmware installed. (not that it matters much, but it's nice to know).

Yes, no issues, tested them on my decoder tester and programmed a random project. They read out normally, as retrofit decoders.
