Found this little gem, when off on a quest...

https://tischbahn.de/akt...schaufenster-per-sensor/

It is in German, but seems easy enough to understand (even for me LOL )

Peace,

Jimmy

Yes, been thinking about something similar for my Wonderwheel / Wunderrad, rather than it running all the time, either motion activated by someone walking past, or press a button - kids LOVE pressing buttons so that would probably be best

Here is the detail from the 1974 Promotional Aids Catalogue, It was first introduced in '73, after 1974 no longer listed.

cookee,

I wonder how many actually made it to market? Or how long they lasted from a performance standpoint? I agree that kids love Love things like that! Mine certainly did! I still do LOL LOL
There are Hallowe'en decorations that have motion sensors that activate scary sounds, so the technology still works, after all these years Cool

Interesting that the picture shows a kid operating a Wunderrad ...

It wouldn't be too hard to make something similar these days that sent a suitable command to start a digital layout. It wouldn't need to be controlling the mains side like that one does.

Totally not the same as the sensor controller, but ...

At the Trix Express club here in Holland (730 members, by far the biggest mrr club in Holland) is for many years on club days a layout on display that can be controlled by the public with 3 transformers for the trains and switches for the windmill and other moving items.
That layout attracts a huge interest from children and grown ups too.
