Hello,

I want to update the firmware of my CS2 (60214) - hardware version 4.33
I did not use the device for many years so it still has the 1.4.0 (1) firmware version.
I try to install the latest firmware (4.2) using USB but the installation cannot be completed.
Someone told me that maybe this is because you cannot go from 1.4.0 directly to 4.2 and that I need to install first earlier versions.
Is this true? And if so, when can I get the earlier versions?

Thank you all

The update modus has been changed and you need version 3.6 before you can install newer updates.
You can get the 3.6 update here:
https://www.maerklin.de/...ce/downloads/cs2-updates

On this link, opening the "CS2_update_Info_above_3_6_english.pdf" it says:
"Load the following files from the Märklin Web page under
http://www.maerklin.de/d...ds/software_updates.html
and store them in the main registry on this USB stick:
cs2update.md5
cs2update.img"

The thing is I cannot find these files there.

Can someone suggest a link in order to find these two files for version 3.6 ?

Don't worry about finding the files, just connect your cs2 to the internet and then tell it to do a network update. It will find all the neccessary files on the Marklin server and do both stages of the update. There are various points at which it will stop and ask for confirmation, but once it proceeds it will find everything it needs to update to the very latest release.

I do the online update but it still sticks to 1.4.0 (1)
This is why I need to make a manual USB update and need the files.

I'll have a look around, I believe I still have the necessary file to update to 3.6.

You have very old version so i suppose you have not used CS2 for years?
Why not?
I think you will have problem by try to upgrade direct to 3.6 because it is a gigantic step up?

It is not a problem to do, it just needs the last of the old update files to do it. I have done it with a cs2 that had very early software on it.

I have seen how ESU with theirs upgrades version must follow in every step by upgrade.
I am possible sure TS will have problem by upgrade CS2.
His old version must have been 10 years ago.
