Good Morning Everyone I do hope everyone is well

I am using Marklin C track and a mobile station two

Shortly I will start building the upper section of my layout, the upper section will cover 3 sets of points so I have no choice but to add point motors.

I Do understand that a motor and a decoder can be added inside the point and controlled by my MS2.

However money is tight so can I add a motor and control it by a Marklin point control box?

Which control box is the best to buy?
Which point motor do I buy?

Can the box be powered by my 12v DC bus wire for my lighting for buildings?or do I need a separate transformer?

Does anyone have a very simple wiring diagram or idiots guide?

Sorry for my lengthy post and many questions

Thank you so much for any help

i started a layout with c track and found in uk real problem of supply cost and VAT so i was using m track out of sight with a conversion track this would sort out your problem since then i have full switched to M track straight sections cost £1 each and points around £15 for 2 with solenoid fitted as for c track in the old days people made switching with wire and pulleys good luck with your layout despite lack of stock and cost im glad i switched to marklin

hess

Hello,

Yes it's possible to control Marklin C track internally fitted points with either digital control with your MS2 or with traditional control boxes. I use old fashioned 7072 type blue boxes easily picked up on ebay.

Wiring is not rocket science. The two blue wires from the point motor go to the green and red terminals on the control box, and the yellow wire goes to the lighting supply on your transformer or any other supply that feeds your layout. The common return from the 7072 box should be connected to the ground socket on your power supply.

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

The cheapest is wiring up the points to the control box. I use decoders which are mfx and although more expensive saves wiring and is great with route control using the CS3. Depnding on the size of the layout and several points decoders are best but as you only have three then wiring when hidden would be fine. I changed years ago to change from wires where possible.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

You could use a K83 decoder instead of the three build in decoders
The point motors for C-rail switches are 74491 or 74492
As suggested you could also keep it "analog" using the 476/4 (old blue) or 72720 switch boxes

Regards

Jean-Pierre
